September 13, 2024

Global warehouse robotics provider Exotec has announced the appointment of Ada Ajoku as Head of UK Projects, and Bassem Awada as VP of Business Development. These hires will help further drive the company’s growth in the UK, following the recent deployment of Exotec’s Skypod system with its latest UK customer, Alliance Automotive Group UK (AAG), in its newly established major Sheffield warehouse.

Ada Ajoku, Head of UK Projects

Ada Ajoku joins Exotec with over 15 years of experience in the automation industry, most notably at Dematic. Based in the UK, Ada graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in electronic and communications engineering, before furthering her studies and obtaining a master’s degree in project management at the University of Warwick. Throughout her nine-year tenure at Dematic, she progressed from Project Manager to Director of EMEA, where she led a team of 150 employees and was responsible for client modernisation and upgrade requirements.

In her new role at Exotec, Ada will oversee the company’s entire UK project portfolio, partnering with stakeholders on the creation and execution of project plans.

Following her appointment, Ada said: “I look forward to joining the talented projects team to achieve best-in-class deployment for customers across the UK, supporting the ongoing project with AAG UK and driving Exotec in its journey to becoming a world leader in robotics automation.”

Bassem Awada, Vice President of Business Development

Bassem Awada joins Exotec from Amazon, where he pursued an eight-year long career in operations, retail, and the cloud technology business, culminating as Head of the AWS EMEA Marketing Response Centre. Based in Luxembourg, Bassem studied in the UK, obtaining an MBA from Warwick Business School, an MSc in control system engineering from the University of Sheffield, and a BEng first-class honours degree from the University of Leeds.

As Vice President of Business Development, Bassem’s role will be to identify strategic partnerships and new opportunities for growth, as part of Exotec’s efforts to expand its customer base in the UK.

Following his appointment, Bassem said: “I am delighted to be joining Exotec at such an exciting time in the company’s development. The UK is a key growth area for the business and offers significant potential, so I’m looking forward to attracting new customers, identifying their challenges and ensuring we deliver the best possible solutions, as we build further momentum in Western Europe.”

Thomas Genestar, Managing Director of Western Europe at Exotec said: “The appointment of both Ada and Bassem will be instrumental in the development of our UK activities, combining Ada’s extensive knowledge of the logistics ecosystem and Bassem’s expertise in building and nurturing customer relations.

“With Ada and Bassem on board, we’re eagerly anticipating what the future holds for our UK business, and look forward to announcing new customer wins in the near future.”
