  • Reduced delivery times and increased volumes of urgent deliveries when needed.

Chatenois, 9 July 2024 – HARTMANN France, a true partner and key player in the healthcare chain, announces a strategic collaboration with Exotec, a global designer and supplier of robotic warehouse solutions, to modernise its Belleville-en-Beaujolais logistics site in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The aim of the upgrade is to improve and optimise the logistics system, which will be operational from early 2025.

Innovative solutions to meet the challenges of growth

As part of its growth in France and to meet the new needs of pharmacists, HARTMANN France has decided to modernise its logistics centre at Belleville-en-Beaujolais in the Rhône region. This project will be carried out in partnership with Exotec, a French industrial robotics company with an international reputation for its advanced logistics solutions.

This €3 million investment will enable the deployment of the Skypod® system, a robotised storage and order preparation solution manufactured entirely in France. As a result, HARTMANN France will be able to double storage density at its site and improve order processing speed. The new retail preparation system, which comprises 16 robots, will enable the company to increase the number of order lines per hour from 300 to 450.

Optimising delivery times and service quality

This new equipment will enable HARTMANN France to support its growth while improving its logistical efficiency for optimised delivery times. With a punctuality rate already praised by its partners, the implementation of Exotec’s robotic solutions will reduce delivery times while maintaining a high level of quality. In addition, urgent delivery volumes can be doubled if necessary.

Emmanuel DENOUES, Director of Operations at HARTMANN France, is delighted: ’ This collaboration with Exotec is a major step forward for HARTMANN France, enabling us to continue our development in France. With this investment in our site, we are committed to offering our pharmacy partners a wide range of even more effective services.

Cédric Wanner, Logistics Manager for France, comments: ‘By opting for this new solution, HARTMANN France has chosen to modernise its logistics network, in terms of storage capacity, order processing and delivery times, enabling us to improve the operational services we offer.

Improving working conditions and safeguarding jobs

The robotisation and automation of certain tasks using Exotec’s Skypod® system will also improve the quality of working life for HARTMANN France employees. This logistics solution has been designed to complement the work of warehouse employees, thereby boosting performance. In this way, HARTMANN France aims to secure the future of its business and maintain jobs in France.

Rémy Malchirand, Exotec’s Sales Director for Western Europe, adds: ’ We are delighted to be working with HARTMANN France and to have the opportunity to put our solution to work for a major player in the healthcare chain. Our Skypod® technology, designed to transform logistics operations, will deliver significant benefits in terms of efficiency and quality of service. ’.
