St. Croix, 5 October 2023

Exotec, a global player in the field of warehouse robotics, today announced that it is continuing its commercial expansion, having now deployed its solutions in more than 100 customer sites worldwide. The company plans to recruit more than 200 additional employees by the end of the year to support its exceptional growth in Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.

‘Reaching the threshold of 100 customer sites marks a crucial milestone for our company and testifies to the dynamism of the warehouse robotics market,’ says Romain Moulin, CEO and co-founder of Exotec. ‘Major brands trust Exotec not only to improve their operational efficiency but also to reinvent their entire supply chains.’

Against a backdrop of global economic uncertainty, persistent labour shortages and growing consumer demand, warehouse automation is emerging as a real market opportunity,’ said Christian Resch, Growth Equity Partner at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. ‘With its unique approach to engineering, innovation and proven success with the world’s leading brands, Exotec is perfectly positioned to capitalise on this opportunity.

North America

Founded in France, Exotec entered the North American market in 2020, ready to conquer the world’s largest economy. Less than three years later, Exotec has established its North American headquarters in Atlanta, where it now has a team of more than 70 people. It has no intention of stopping there, with several recruitment sessions planned to support the strong demand from its customers in the region. Exotec currently has more than 20 customer sites across the US and Canada, serving major brands such as GAP, Ariat and Decathlon. The North American market is expected to account for a third of Exotec’s global business by 2025.

Western Europe

In Western Europe, Exotec achieved significant growth through the acquisition of new customers and by expanding into new countries. In June, Exotec worked with CEVA Logistics to deliver 57 robots to two sites in the Netherlands, while in July a partnership was signed with Lyreco, a global distributor of office supplies, to deliver robots to its distribution centre in France.

In April 2023, Exotec also strengthened its presence in the UK market through a strategic partnership with Alliance Automotive Group (AAG), a European leader in the automotive aftermarket.

Central Europe

The company recently announced its partnership with Polish integrator A1 Sorter, which has already resulted in a joint project with ILS, a Polish provider of logistics services to the automotive industry. A1 Sorter and Exotec will equip an ILS order processing centre at the company’s headquarters in Zakroczym, Poland, with the Skypod® system.

Asia-Pacific (APAC)

Asia is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, and Exotec is particularly interested in this region as part of its global expansion strategy. In August 2023, the company announced its entry into the Korean market through a partnership with POSCO DX Co. a provider of engineering and information technology services. South Korea, the second Asian market after Japan to adopt Exotec solutions, represents a strategic market for the company.

In Japan, Exotec has continued its exceptional growth by entering into new partnerships to supply its Skypod robotic systems to integrated logistics service provider Alps Logistics and order fulfilment service provider acca international.
