Logistic spring: 3 trade fairs not to be missed in March

March 13,2024

In March, the logistics sector is in turmoil: alongside the giant LogiMAT (1,600 exhibitors and over 60,000 visitors), other national trade fairs are making their mark by offering specific local approaches. IntraLogisteX in the UK, SITL in France, Supply Chain Innovations in Belgium: what are their signatures? Here’s an overview and 15 highlights.

IntraLogisteX: trade fairs in the trade fair

IntraLogisteX on paper :

IntraLogisteX is the UK’s biggest logistics event. Previously held at the Coventry Building Society, the show is moving to the NEC Birmingham this year due to growth: 60 speakers and 8,000 visitors are expected for this 2024 edition. Although this is a far cry from LogiMAT’s 60,000 visitors, nearly 9 out of 10 people would recommend the event to their peers, notably for the quality of the speakers and the strong editorial bias.

IntraLogisteX in the field :

IntraLogisteX is dividing its exhibition into several events: one area will be entirely devoted to robotics and automation, another to responsible supply chain management, and the last to exhibitors’ case studies and feedback. This editorial positioning reflects the concerns of the sector. LogiMAT has placed AI, sustainability and ergonomics at the heart of its programme.

[Le talk Exotec] Large-scale storage automation to reduce risk

Faster to deploy than traditional automation systems, ASRSs that use robotics to optimise logistics warehouses are also more flexible. Warehouse control systems, storage, retrieval: what’s in it for them on a large scale? Simon Jones, UK Sales Executive, takes us through the benefits of these systems in 30 minutes to discover the Skypod intralogistics process automation system.

SITL: time for debate

SITL on paper :

40 years of existence, 400 exhibitors, 110 conferences: the 2024 edition of the SITL show will be under the banner of ‘Metamorphoses and paths of change’. Mature in age, but young in spirit: over 200 exhibitors from the robotics, automation, IoT technologies and information systems sectors are expected.

SITL in the field :

The programme for the International Transport and Logistics Show is distinguished by the emphasis it places on round tables. These formats are more conducive to the exchange of best practice, and will feature an interesting mix of speakers from institutions, associations and businesses such as ADEME, AFILOG, SNCF Réseau and Amazon France Logistique. A valuable opportunity for the French market.

At the same time, this year the show is launching informal events to encourage exchanges between the players in the ecosystem, from hauliers to logisticians and political authorities.

[Le talk Exotec] Use case Supply Web: anticipating the future with warehouse automation equipment

How does an automated logistics service help to anticipate the future? Efficiency, added value, competitiveness: a report from the field with a 3PL player, Supplyweb, 6 months after the installation of Exotec®’s Skypod® automatic storage system in one of its warehouses.

Supply Chain Innovations: management, flash interviews… and dating!

Supply Chain Innovations on paper :

With 800 visitors expected, this is the most confidential, if not the most intimate, of the spring’s logistics events. Particular attention is paid to the quality of the presentations, both in terms of content and format. Among the many good reasons to come to the show are feedback on specific problems (for example, sanding down a warehouse floor to remove all its rough edges), as well as conferences dedicated to management.

Supply Chain Innovations in the field:

  • Heineken, OptimaT, Horizonwest, Barry Callebaut: local trade fairs, but international use cases!
  • Innovative and effective: the flash interview format. Interviews lasting up to 6 minutes on concepts such as cyber-resilience in supply chains, or the best ways to plan your production process.
  • The emphasis is also on quality networking, with an online schedule for ‘dating’ other show participants.
[Talk Exotec] BlueStar use case: the great leap forward for its distribution centre

Maurice Van Rijn, VP Business Development at BlueStar, will present the group’s strategic transition towards the implementation of a robotic storage solution in its warehouses with Exotec.
