Exotec® Nihon Co, Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Exotec SAS, announces the opening of its new showroom in Tokyo. Here, Exotec’s solutions for logistics robotics will be on permanent display. Visitors will be able to see all the components of the Skypod® system, including autonomous mobile robots, high-density storage racks and ergonomic order-picking stations. The Skypicker®, a robotic picking arm that collects items from the Skypod® robot bins and places them in preparation containers, will also be on display in this new demonstration area, allowing visitors to experience the technology in its (near) real-life environment.

This is the very first Exotec showroom to include a Skypod system, a Skypicker and an immersive virtual space.

Romain Moulin, CEO of Exotec:

Some of the world’s leading brands have been using the Skypod system for years and we are delighted to see its growing adoption in the Japanese market. In recent years, companies such as Fast Retailing, Yodobashi Camera, Alps Logistics and Mitsui Fudosan have chosen Exotec as a strategic partner in their automation journey. This showroom will enable our potential customers to experience our technology in real-life conditions.

Ryu Tatewaki, Managing Director of Exotec Nihon:

The ‘Tokyo Demo Center’ marks a new milestone for Exotec as it is our first-ever independent and permanent urban showroom. The Tokyo Bay area is a logistics hub for the Tokyo metropolitan region, with numerous warehouses and logistics-related facilities. The installation of the demonstration centre in Shin-Kiba, which is easily accessible, will enable a greater number of potential customers to discover the warehouse automation solution in person.

We believe that improving warehouse operations with robotics can have a significant impact on solving the ‘2024 problem’ facing Japanese industry. The opportunity to provide advice and demonstrations to our potential customers will help us to increase market awareness of the value that the Skypod system can bring to their operations.
