With both certifications, Exotec is the only company publicly demonstrating dual compliance in the industry, demonstrating the team’s dedication to safeguarding customers from potential cyberthreats
Today Exotec, a global warehouse robotics provider, announced the achievement of the SOC2 Type 2 Cybersecurity compliance. The framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) demonstrates the strict controls Exotec has in place to protect customer data.
The compliance comes just a few months after obtaining ISO/IEC 27001, the international standard for security management. The two are complementary, ISO/IEC 27001 represents Exotec’s strict processes for security, and SOC2 Type 2 is operational, showing the processes are concrete.
Warehouses manage a wealth of sensitive information, including inventory figures and customer data. With today’s volatile supply chain, businesses need agile warehouse operations, requiring a level of automation in order to remain competitive. As technology further integrates into the modern warehouse, its especially crucial providers take a proactive approach to protecting customers.
Exotec institutes a three-layered approach across technical, functional, and organizational security in order to ensure consistency in protecting customer data across all functions. Additionally, the company maintains compliance with meeting legal and regulatory requirements for data protection. These requirements, including both SOC2 Type 2 Compliance and ISO/IEC 27001, mandate frequent audits and renewal, requiring Exotec to maintain a high level of standards at all times.
This proactive approach is increasingly important as Exotec continues to grow and serve large, global Fortune 500 organizations with strict requirements. Both security frameworks ensure these organizations’ automation system is compliant with cybersecurity regulations no matter the region they’re operating in. Industry leading safeguards for the robotics system, including 24/7 monitoring and comprehensive staff training to cybersecurity threats, are a key differentiator for the company in the market.
“Beyond compliance, achieving both ISO/IEC 27001 certification and SOC2 Type 2 compliance reflects our belief that cybersecurity is a driver of trust and value creation,” said Pascal Ferard, Chief Information Security Officer at Exotec. “I see this approach as a long-term commitment to our clients and to the ongoing security of our solutions.”
